Silicone compression molding process for custom silicone product manufacturing

How Silicone Compression Molding Works: A Factory Process

Silicone compression molding is a widely used manufacturing process for producing flexible, durable, and precisely shaped silicone products.

In this short factory video, you can see the main steps of the silicone molding process—from placing the silicone material into the mold to removing the finished product.

1. Silicone Material Placement

The prepared silicone material is placed into each mold cavity by hand. Accurate placement helps ensure that the material fills the mold evenly during production.

2. Heat and Pressure Molding

The mold is closed inside the compression molding machine. Controlled heat and pressure allow the silicone material to flow, cure, and form the required shape.

The molding temperature, pressure, and curing time are adjusted according to the product design, material, size, and structure.

3. Mold Opening and Demolding

After the curing process is completed, the mold is opened and the formed silicone products are carefully removed by hand.

Proper demolding helps prevent deformation and protects the surface and shape of the product.

4. Product Inspection

After demolding, the silicone parts are checked for shape, surface quality, completeness, and molding consistency.

Additional processes may include trimming, cleaning, logo printing, packaging, and final quality inspection according to the customer’s requirements.
